Fall Colors- Upstate New York

Climate change is here to stay. The winters warmer, summers milder, and when autumn arrives, we look to the Berkshires for the foliage that comes starting in early October thru 1st week of November.  At the edge of Town of Hillsdale, New York, thes photos show the brilliant Fall colors boldly in 2019.

The pond/lake craters these beautiful fields of gold, amber, reds. Before the leaves fall and blanket the forest floor, this photo shows about 1 week before peak.

Backyard Maple Tree

In our backyard, the few maple trees show off their color change. Pumpkin like orange. Leaves start blanketing the back ground, while the winds start to kick in. One knows and feel when autumn starts, winds come accross the valley helping the fall leaves, cover the ground.

DUAL SHOTS
aken at different times of autumn, the photo on top is past peak. Storm clouds in the distance pushing winter on us.

Early autumn brings about clear blue skies, scattered clouds, bright sunlight.  Perfect weather to sit out on the back deck and watch for deer, turkey, coyote, and on occasion wolves.

Pictured here at the entrance of Mountain Washington Forest, Bish Bash Falls, a brilliant display of colors. The last of the Canadian geese, play and swim in the lake before winter sets in, as they fly off to the south seeking warmer and friendlier climate.

This brilliant display of colors do not remain long, perhaps 3 weeks, or less.
Winter is not too far, shorter days, cooler air, and changing of the season can be felt.
