Fields of Sun

Fields of Sun

On a sunny afternoon, while hiking in Karuizawa, the forest opened up to a spectacular view of rolling hills, drenched in bright intense sun light. Clouds afar, speckled in the backdrop of a bright blue sky. Captured this shot after going thru a full roll of film.
Kodachrome- film, 25 ASA, Nikomat camera,  Nikon 35mm lens.

Pillow Clouds Over the Horizon

Sleeping Bamboo Stalks
Following the path, leads me down a shallow valley to come upon an expired persimmon crop. A farm house in the distance nestled along the topography. Pillow clouds race across the mountains. This photo was shot in 1981, Karuizawa-Gunma Prefecture, Japan

Expired Persimon Crop

Proud Gentleman Farmer

A Farmer's tool shed is tucked away at the edge of the farm, appearing tired and expended. A "Hachi Maki" slung over the main supporting pillar only to be found again in the next season's crop.

Farmer's Tool Shed
On the opposite side of the trian tracks, on the way to Naka-Karuizawa I captured this distant shot of Mt. Asama. Farmer's fields, a small Tori Gate nestled in the center of the field. A less travelled road runs South to North. This photo was captured in the winter of 1981.
