An old decrepit farm house, thatched roof behing, showing it's proud " Entotsu" or chimney. In those days, no hot water or heat. To get hot water for a bath, we feed a furnace with raw charcoal which would heat a crude rudimentary water heater. The exhaust would billow out of the chimney which we called " Enotsu" filled with black soot, while smoke billowed out towards the clear blue skies at the end of the afternoon, when all residents returned to their cottages at the day to enjoy a hot bath, otherwise "Ofuro"
