Family To Tel Aviv

November 2015, the family goes to Israel. Our first Thanksgivings away from New York in 25 years. We landed in Tel Aviv and started in Jaffa as our first destination in our discovery of Israel. Here we are pictured in Jaffa a trendy part of Tel Aviv attracting many artists, artisans, the arab shouk.

Our first night out in town, takes us to a steak house in Tel Aviv. Pictured here with the owner, a master sommelier who serves  boutique Israeli wines from all regions. We tried a full bodied Merlot and end up finishing the bottle.

An hour's out of Tel Aviv, we arrived to Caesarea, named after Julius Caesar of the Roman Empire. Ruins of The Aqueducts are still preserved to this date. Caesarea lies on the shores of the Mediterranean sea, meticulously planned, a city of beauty

Pictured hereunder is the amphitheater in Caesarea, beautifully crafted and placed by the sea. Storm clouds come roaring in at the end of the day.

Fast Forward to summer 2017, we returned to Tel Aviv for another time. At sunset I captured this plane come in for a landing.  Tel Aviv continues to evolve as a very cool city. Many restaurants, museums, art exhibits, huge influx of European Jews coming to either visit and or immigrate from Europe, S. America.

Amongst the more charming and up & coming neighborhoods is Jaffa. Many eateries, galleries, bakeries, antique shops and residences overlooking the Mediterranean sea.  Jaffa is both an inviting tourist spot as well as an inviting place to hang out, shop and have fun. Jaffa is nestled on a hill which continues down towards the water and Port of Jaffa. The pic hereunder shows  the  quaint streets that leads down tot he port. Stone cobbled streets remain from ages back. Many of the  streets of Jaffa only allow pedestrian access.
