The powerful and towering volcano located at the edge of Karuizawa. The locals called it "Onioshidashi" revelled at this awesome creation. Photographers, tourists, day trippers all came to Karuizawa to admire, view, photograph this volcano. Throughout the years, I have photographed Mt. Asama, and here is a tribute to this mountain that has watched me grow from a young lad to an adult until the time I left Japan in 1984, never returned to see this mountain again. I hope to return to Karuizawa and see Mt. Asama.
